Behavioural Interventionist—Home-Based Applied Behaviour Analysis

We are looking for BIs to join our energetic team and work with our 4 year old son who has autism. He is a very funny, energetic, highly verbal little boy who loves to play with trucks and trains.

Our consultant is Michele Shilvock (BCBA). She creates all the programs for us and provides ongoing supervision and training, so this would be a great opportunity for applicants who welcome frequent overlaps and opportunities to further develop their skills. This is an opportunity to work on a team structured in natural environment teaching, and a developmental approach rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.

What is ABA? Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. Behavior analysis helps us to understand how behavior works, how behavior is affected by the environment and how learning takes place. ABA therapy applies our understanding of how behavior works to real situations. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning.

Applicants with early child education or ABA experience are preferred but we WILL also consider well motivated and not experienced applicants as well. Salary is negotiable and based on experience, generally $15-25 an hour.

Potential shifts are for 2.5 hours within the following time frames

Mon-Wed-Fri 1400-1700

Tues-Thurs 1500-1700

Sat-Sun 1000-1300

There is also the possibility, for the right candidate, of attending preschool Mon-Wed-Fri 0900-1300 until Jun 2019 and/or Surrey School District starting in Fall 2019 as an ABA-Support Worker.

You must be dependable and willing to commit to a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week and be able to attend team meetings once a month.

If you are responsible, energetic, creative, and motivated, we would like to hear from you.
